Anywaves joins BWI and Hemeria on the REVALTO mission
We are proud to announce that Anywaves has been selected by BWI (Blue Water Intelligence), alongside Hemeria, to take part in REVALTO – an ambitious French mission dedicated to the high-revisit observation of continental water levels.
A constellation to better understand the Earth’s water cycle
Launched by Toulouse-based startup BWI, the REVALTO (REVisiting ALTimetry hydrOlogy) project aims to measure continental water levels — rivers, lakes, and reservoirs — with both high frequency and high precision. By doing so, the mission will enhance scientific understanding of the global water cycle and support the development of innovative services such as flood prevention, drought forecasting, and sustainable water management.
At the heart of this mission lies a shared ambition: to harness space technology in the service of environmental intelligence. Supported by the France 2030 programme, operated by CNES for the Ministry of Energy Transition, REVALTO embodies a new generation of space missions where data, AI, and miniaturized satellite technology converge to address global challenges.
Anywaves’ role: designing and producing the RF radar payload
For REVALTO, Anywaves will be responsible for designing and producing the RF radar payload, one of the mission’s key technological elements. This step represents a major evolution in our roadmap — expanding from the design of high-performance antennas to the delivery of complete RF payloads.
As Nicolas Capet, President of Anywaves, explains:
“This ambitious project aligns perfectly with Anywaves’ strategic roadmap. After having developed and delivered a full range of antennas and radio frequency products for satellites and payloads, the next logical step was to acquire the capability to provide RF radar payloads. Backed by our recognized experience and industrial expertise, we are fully committed to developing this particularly innovative payload, thereby contributing to the success of BWI’s ambitious mission.”
The challenge is both technical and symbolic: designing a miniaturized radar altimeter capable of meeting the mission’s demanding revisit rate and precision requirements. This innovation reinforces Anywaves’ position as a trusted European partner for cutting-edge space missions.
A Toulouse-based partnership built on shared expertise
REVALTO brings together three Toulouse-based companies — BWI, Hemeria, and Anywaves — each contributing unique and complementary expertise:
- BWI leads the mission and manages hydrological data through proprietary AI.
- Hemeria provides the satellite platform, integration, and operations.
- Anywaves delivers the radar payload that enables precise Earth observation measurements.
According to Jérémy Fain, CEO of BWI, “the technical challenges involved in developing satellites made it essential to work with partners whose DNA closely matches ours and whose technical expertise complements our own. We have full confidence in Anywaves’ ability to develop a miniaturized radar altimeter tailored to the mission’s objectives, and in Hemeria’s capacity to build a top-quality platform and operate satellites. It was therefore evident for us to call on these leading players in the French space ecosystem.”
Nicolas Multan, CEO of Hemeria, added: “We are delighted to support BWI in its REVALTO project. The mission’s major societal contribution brings special meaning to our participation. Moreover, it strengthens the production pipeline of satellites to be manufactured and delivered for our HP-EOS range. One more customer!”
Looking ahead
At Anywaves, we are proud to contribute to a mission that combines scientific ambition, technological innovation, and environmental purpose.
REVALTO also marks a new milestone in our journey: it illustrates Anywaves’ transition from a space antenna manufacturer to a designer and producer of complete RF payload systems. Building on our recognized know-how in space electronics and radio-frequency engineering, we are now extending our capabilities to develop integrated, mission-critical payloads that meet the most demanding performance and reliability standards.
This evolution reflects our ambition to become not only a leader in space antennas, but also a key worldwide player in RF payloads and space electronics, helping our partners achieve ever more advanced and resilient missions.
