SmallSat week is almost here — and this year, Anywaves is once again starting it with a bang.
On Sunday, August 23, Anywaves will bring the SmallSat community together in Salt Lake City for Big Steps at SmallSat, at our opening party ahead of the 40th Annual Small Satellite Conference.
Following the energy of last year’s event, we’re going even bigger for 2026. Customers, partners, friends and fellow space enthusiasts are invited to join us at The Gateway from 7pm to 10pm for an evening dedicated to what makes the space industry special: great people, new connections and a shared passion for pushing boundaries.
Welcome to the Wild Wide West
This year, we’re bringing a little extra Western spirit to Salt Lake City.
Our Wild Wide West party will transform The Gateway for one night, combining the atmosphere of the American West with the energy of the international space community.
Expect live music, food and cocktails, full Western-themed decor, and plenty of opportunities to catch up with familiar faces — or meet the people behind the next big space mission.
Guests will also be able to take home an exclusive Anywaves collector’s bandana, created especially for the occasion.
And there may be one more surprise waiting for you on the night. We’ll keep that one under our cowboy hats for now.
More than a party
SmallSat has always been about community.
The conference brings together engineers, manufacturers, operators, researchers, agencies and entrepreneurs from across the world. Before the meetings, technical discussions and conference sessions begin, Big Steps at SmallSat is our way of bringing that community together in a more relaxed setting.
It’s a chance to reconnect after another busy year in space, meet new people and start SmallSat week together.
And with 2026 marking the 40th Annual Small Satellite Conference, we think there’s plenty to celebrate.

The event is open to all attendees of the 40th Annual Small Satellite Conference. Bring your badge! Registration is highly recommended, as capacity is limited: admission will be on a first come, first served basis for the first 1,000 guests.
