IAC 2024 Theme: Responsible Space for Sustainability
This year’s IAC, organized in collaboration with AIM Group International, will focus on the theme “Responsible Space for Sustainability”. With over 8,000 participants from space agencies, companies, research centers, and associations worldwide, IAC 2024 will highlight the importance of safeguarding space as a shared resource—to be used peacefully and responsibly for the benefit of all nations and future generations.
With the rapid expansion of space activities, the number of operational satellites is set to increase dramatically in the coming years. This raises concerns about overcrowding, security risks, and the availability of vital data and services. In areas like agriculture, communications, environmental monitoring, and finance, space systems are crucial for building a more sustainable and digital future. Italy, this year’s host country, is at the forefront of responsible space use, making it a fitting location for this year’s Congress.
Celebrating 60 Years of Italy’s Space Heritage
It is no coincidence that the IAC is being held in Italy this year. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the launch of San Marco 1, Italy’s first satellite, a landmark achievement that positioned the country as a key player in space exploration. What better way to commemorate this historic milestone than by hosting the world’s leading space event in Milan?
